MULBERRY MARKET

We are proud to be 100% artisan only! Come down to Mulberry Street to experience Little Italy and walk away with some beautiful handcrafted goods from our talented vendors.

MetroFlea Mulberry outdoor artisan market features talented indie designers, vintage clothing, and jewelry vendors from New York City. James LaMorte, Founder and Owner, and Yoli Rapp, the Operations Manager and space Curator have gone through great lenghs to curate the space with an ‘Artisan Only’ policy. “I have 15 years of experience as a vendor at various markets and I’ve noticed the same trend over and over again – markets claim to be artisan, but before you know it, they allow wholesale vendors to sell and it really hurts the artisans who have to compete with wholesale items by lowering their prices on handmade goods. I can empathize, as I am a designer with the understanding of the amount of time each designer takes to create their products, and the cost of creating those handmade goods. Vintage jewelry and clothing are the only exceptions to our rule,” says Yoli. The market offers a balance of items ranging from jewelry, handbags, clothing, art, tapestry, and ceramic to boutique bath products.

Nestled in the heart of Little Italy and centrally localed to Soho, Nolita, and Chinatown, in the courtyard of the Most Precioius Blood Church (synonymous with the Feast of San Gennaro) is where you will find this gem of a market. The location is a daily stop for tour guides because it marks the resting place for the statue of San Gennaro after the procession, down the streets of Little Italy during the feast. Tours enjoy not only learning about the history of the church, but also strolling the market and finding some handcrafted one-of-a-kind items on their voyage back home.

Memorial Day through Labor Day is an exciting time in Little Italy, as the streets are blocked off to vehicular traffic from Friday at 5pm, due to the high volume of pedestrian traffic. Restaurants and shops in the area pull their tables and chairs curbside al fresco. It’s a wonderful vibe!
